Generac Starter Motor Gear Reduced 1Kw A0000501971

The part did not fit even thought this is the correct part. I had to go to multiple forums to find out that on some generators , the bell housing had to be changed out. ie install the old on the new. So after spending a couple hours trying to get the mounting holes to line up, and i never could. It would be nice if either Generac or Gensys, indicated that this is a common problem, with an easy fix. I was hesitant to disassemble a new starter for concern that if it was DOA that i wouldnt be able to return it. After changing the housing it was literally a 15min job, which took me 2 days.... But on a positive note, shipping was very fast and after the issues noted the unit works great.
